Description
Cyclone Tufflite Ribbed Spline is a hollow core PVC spline for fitting flyscreen mesh into aluminium screen frames, supplied here as a 30 metre roll in the 5.7mm size. The ribbed surface is designed to grip the frame channel more firmly, which makes it a sensible pick for screens that take a bit of knocking about, such as doors and patio enclosures.
About the product
This is a professional quality spline made in Australia from soft, UV resistant PVC. The soft material stays easy to work with, while the hollow core helps it hold its shape once it is pressed into the channel. Compared with a smooth spline, the ribbed profile gives a tighter hold and a stronger overall screen system.
Where to use it
Indoors: re-screening aluminium-framed flyscreen doors and windows from inside the house, where a firm grip is wanted.
Outdoors: patio enclosures and screen doors that are exposed to sun and regular impact.
How to use it
- Lay the new mesh over the frame, leaving a small margin around the edge.
- Press the mesh into the spline channel with a spline roller (sold separately), working steadily along each side.
- Roll the spline in over the mesh, keeping it straight and without stretching it as you go.
- Trim the spline to length at the corners and cut off the excess mesh with a sharp blade.
Important notes
This 5.7mm size suits frames with a matching spline channel, so check your existing spline before buying. It is made for installing flyscreen into aluminium extrusion frames. A 5mm ribbed size is also available if your channel is narrower. Spline rollers and screen mesh are not included.

Care and storage
Keep the roll in a cool, dry spot out of direct sun until you are ready to use it, and avoid kinking or crushing it. Use a sharp blade with care when trimming, and keep small offcuts away from children and pets.
