Description
The Cyclone Tufflite Synthetic Spline Roller is a simple hand tool for fitting 4-6mm spline when you are installing or replacing a synthetic insect screen. It presses the spline into the frame groove and keeps the screen tensioned as you work, so it suits both DIY flyscreen repairs and routine re-screening jobs.
About the product
The roller has a concave edge wheel that sits over the spline and rolls it into the groove. A soft, ergonomic hand grip keeps longer jobs comfortable. The beveled, pointed tip gives you control of the spline around corners. It is made for synthetic flyscreen such as fibreglass or PVC-coated mesh. For metal insect screens, Cyclone makes a separate Tufflite Synthetic Metal Roller.
Where to use it
Indoors: re-screening window and door flyscreen frames at a workbench or table.
Outdoors: working on patio enclosure and screen door frames, or re-screening on site.
Features
- Soft ergonomic hand grip for added comfort
- Concave edge wheel for rolling spline into the groove
- Beveled pointed tip for spline control around corners
- Hang hole for easy storage
- Suits 4-6mm spline in synthetic insect screens
How to use it
Lay the new screen mesh flat over the frame groove, leaving a little extra mesh around the edges. Start the spline at one corner and push it into the groove with the pointed tip. Run the concave wheel along the groove with firm, even pressure to seat the spline and tension the screen. At each corner, use the pointed tip to guide the spline into the turn before rolling on. When the spline is fully seated, trim the excess mesh with a sharp knife.
Important notes
This roller is designed for synthetic screens. Use the metal roller for metal mesh. Check that your spline is within the 4-6mm range before you start. Work evenly and avoid over-tensioning the mesh, because that can distort the frame or pucker the screen.

Care and storage
Wipe the wheel and handle clean of dust and debris after use. Hang the roller up by its hang hole or store it somewhere dry. Keep the wheel and tip free of grit so they do not mark the spline or mesh.
