Description
DETA Green Insulation PVC Tape is a general-purpose electrical tape for insulating, protecting and colour-coding wiring, supplied as a single 18mm x 20m roll. It suits household and industrial jobs, and its green colour makes it handy for marking or identifying conductors.
About the tape
A flexible PVC tape with an adhesive layer that grips well and wraps neatly around joins and cable runs. It is 0.18mm thick, is rated for electrical insulation up to 600V, and is listed to UL and RoHS compliant. The manufacturer describes it as lead free, with good resistance to cold and UV exposure and reliable weatherability. It also seals out moisture.
Where to use it
Indoors: insulating and bundling wiring, covering splices and terminations, and colour-coding cables in switchboards, workshops and around the home.
Outdoors: wrapping connections and cable runs that are exposed to sun, cold and the weather, where the tape's UV and cold resistance help it stay in place.
Suitable for wrapping over cable sheathing, wire insulation and common connectors. It is designed as a wrapping tape for wiring, not as a structural adhesive.
How to use it
Make sure the power is isolated first, then clean and dry the surface so it is free of dust, oil and moisture. Start the wrap slightly past the area you want to cover, then wind the tape with a light stretch and a generous overlap on each turn. Finish a little beyond the other end, press the tail down firmly and cut the tape with scissors rather than tearing it.
Important notes
This green tape is not flame retardant. If you need a flame retardant tape, choose a product that is specifically marked as flame retardant. Wiring work must be done to local rules and, where required, by a licensed electrician. For permanent or high-demand joins, always follow the relevant wiring standards.

Safety
Isolate the power and confirm circuits are dead before wrapping any electrical connection. Use sharp scissors or a blade with care when cutting the tape. Keep out of reach of children and store the roll in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
