Description
DETA Insulation PVC Tape in white is a general-purpose electrical tape for household and industrial wiring jobs, supplied here as a handy five-roll pack. Each roll is 18mm wide and 20m long, so there is plenty on hand for repairs, cable bundling and colour-coding whether you are working at home or on site.
About the tape
A soft, flexible PVC film tape with a self-adhesive backing, designed to grip well and provide electrical insulation up to 600V. At 0.18mm thick, it is made to cope with cold conditions and sunlight exposure, and it is lead free, RoHS approved and UL listed.
Where to use it
Indoors: insulating and protecting wire joins, bundling and tidying cable runs, and marking or colour-coding circuits in switchboards, appliances and general wiring.
Outdoors: wrapping and protecting wiring exposed to weather, as the tape resists UV and cold and seals out moisture.
Suitable for general electrical insulation and cable identification on wires, cables and connections. White is useful where a visible, distinct colour code is needed.
How to use it
Make sure the wire or joint is clean and dry, and that the power is isolated before you start. Begin wrapping slightly beyond the area to be covered, overlap each turn as you go and apply light, even tension so the tape conforms to the shape. Finish past the end of the joint and press the tail down firmly. Cut the tape cleanly rather than tearing it.
Important notes
This tape is not flame retardant, so choose a flame-retardant tape if your job requires one. It is rated for electrical insulation up to 600V, so do not use it where higher voltages are involved. Always isolate power and follow local electrical regulations, and have a licensed electrician carry out any work that legally requires one.

Safety
Isolate and test that circuits are dead before wrapping any electrical connection. Keep out of reach of children and store the rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
