Description
The Dewalt DCF850N-XJ is a compact 18V XR brushless impact driver built for tight spaces, supplied here as a skin-only tool (no battery or charger). It packs up to 205Nm of torque into a head length of about 100mm, so it suits construction, industrial and automotive work where a bigger driver will not fit.
About the product
A brushless motor drives an optimised impact mechanism, giving strong fastening power from a short, light body. A three-mode selector lets you match the tool to the job, including a Precision Drive setting that helps protect the fastener and the material on smaller tasks. A ring of LEDs around the chuck lights up the work area, and the grip is shaped for comfort during longer sessions. The improved 1/4 inch quick-release hex bit holder is designed to hold bits more securely with less bit run-out.
Where to use it
Indoors: framing and fit-out, cabinetry and joinery fixings, and general screw and bolt driving in confined spots.
Outdoors: decking, fencing, site work and automotive jobs where space is limited.
How to use it
- Fit a compatible Dewalt 18V XR battery (not included) and insert a 1/4 inch hex bit.
- Choose a mode with the selector switch: screw mode, bolt mode or self-tapping mode. Precision Drive is the gentler option for smaller jobs.
- Use the variable speed trigger to start slowly and build speed as the fastener seats.
- Use the built-in belt clip to keep the driver on hand between tasks.
Important notes
This is a bare tool. A battery and charger are required and sold separately. It works with the Dewalt 18V XR battery range. Choose bits and fasteners that suit the material and the torque you need.
