Description
The DeWalt DW088CG-XJ is a compact self-levelling cross line laser that throws bright green horizontal and vertical lines for fast, accurate layout, supplied ready to go with batteries and a hard carry case. The green beam is much easier on the eye than a comparable red line, which helps when you are setting out rooms, tiles, doors and ceilings and need to see your reference line clearly.
About the product
This two-beam laser projects one horizontal and one vertical line, which you can run on their own or together as a cross. It levels itself within a 4 degree range, and simple push button controls keep operation straightforward. Pulse mode lets you pair it with a compatible laser detector (sold separately) to stretch the working range out to about 50m. The overmoulded housing and IP54 rating protect it against knocks, dust and splashes on a busy site, and the line accuracy is 0.3mm per metre.
Where to use it
Indoors: room layout, doorways and windows, ceiling and suspended ceiling set-out, wall tiling and floor tiling, stud wall layout, and first and second fix installations where speed, precision and line visibility matter.
Outdoors: the green beam is best suited to indoor work, as laser lines are harder to see in bright daylight. Check the manufacturer's instructions for outdoor use.
How to use it
Place the laser on a flat surface, mount it on a tripod using the 1/4 inch thread, or attach it to metal studs and track using the integrated magnetic bracket. Switch it on, choose horizontal, vertical or cross lines, and let it settle. It will give an out of level indication if it is tilted beyond its self-levelling range.

Important notes
A laser detector is not included. Tripod is not included. This is a Class 2 laser, so never look directly into the beam or point it at other people, and always follow the instructions supplied with the tool. Visible range and drop ratings can vary between regional listings, so refer to the manual in the box for the figures that apply to your unit.

Care and storage
Keep the lens clean with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh solvents. Store the laser in its case in a dry place away from extreme heat, and remove the batteries if it will not be used for a long time. Handle with care, as knocks can affect calibration over time. Keep out of reach of children.
