Description
The DeWalt Green Cross Line Laser Level (DW08802CG-XJ) is a compact, self-levelling laser that throws one horizontal and one vertical line for quick, accurate set-out on tiling, framing, plastering, painting and fit-out jobs. The green beam is easier on the eyes than a standard red beam, so your lines stay easy to see when you are working across a room.
About the product
This cross line laser projects a single horizontal line and a single vertical line. You can run them separately or together as a cross. A locking pendulum protects the self-levelling mechanism when the tool is switched off or moved. Rubber overmoulding around the housing helps it handle knocks on site, and it is rated to survive a 1 metre drop. The green beam is up to four times brighter than a red beam, with a visible range of up to 16 metres. The body is rated IP54 for protection against dust and splashing water.
Where to use it
Indoors: setting out tile courses in bathrooms and kitchens, hanging cabinetry and shelving, lining up plasterboard and wall frames, and marking level lines for painting or picture rails.
Outdoors: general set-out and marking in shaded or covered areas where the beam is easy to see (a laser detector is not included).
How to use it
- Put the laser on a flat surface, or use the integrated magnetic pivoting base to attach it to metal framing or steel.
- The base has a 1/4 inch thread, so it can also be mounted on a tripod (sold separately).
- The hang hole allows the laser to be hung from a nail or screw.
- Unlock the pendulum, switch on the laser and let it self-level, then mark your lines.
- Lock the pendulum again before carrying the laser or putting it back in the case.

Important notes
Accuracy is rated at +/- 6 mm at 10 metres. Check the calibration from time to time, especially after a heavy knock, before relying on it for critical work. The IP54 rating covers dust and splashes only, so do not submerge the laser or leave it out in heavy rain. In bright sunlight, the beam is harder to see over long distances. The manufacturer's warranty is 1 year, extended to 3 years when the product is registered online.

Care and storage
Never look directly into the laser beam and do not point it at people or animals. Take the batteries out if you will not use the tool for a long time. Lock the pendulum and keep the laser in its case when it is not in use, in a cool, dry place away from heavy impacts. Wipe the housing and glass with a soft, dry cloth to keep the beam clear.
