Description
Dingo Fast Set Mortar is a ready-blended, quick-setting mortar for small masonry repairs around the home and on the building site, supplied here in a handy 3kg bag. Just add water to turn the dry mix into a workable mortar for patching, repointing and other quick fix-up jobs, with a set time of around 15 minutes.
About the formula
A dry, pre-mixed blend of cement, sand and additives, so there is no need to source and proportion separate materials for a small repair. Dingo describes it as a smooth, buttery mortar, and it cures to a grey finish. The 3kg pack suits small jobs where a full bag of general mortar would be wasted.
Where to use it
Indoors: small patches and repairs to masonry or brickwork where a quick turnaround matters.
Outdoors: repairs to brick and render walls, repointing brickwork, grouting and patching around the home and on building sites.
Suitable for brick, block and stone laying and for masonry and render repairs.
How to use it
Lay out your project and have your tools ready before you start, because the mortar sets quickly. Tip the amount you need onto a clean surface or into a wheelbarrow or mixing tub, then add clean water gradually while mixing thoroughly to a stiff consistency. If you add too much water, leave the mix aside until it thickens back to a workable consistency. Trowel the mortar onto your bricks or blocks. Lightly soak clay bricks in water before laying, and lay concrete blocks dry. Mix only what you can use quickly, and use the contents soon after opening the bag.
Important notes
Keep the mortar damp for about a week after application to help it harden. Retaining walls should not be backfilled for at least two weeks. Keep the dry mix and any unused product dry before use. The amount of water needed is stated differently across published sources, so follow the directions printed on your bag and add water gradually.

Safety
As with all cement products, mixing it may irritate the eyes and skin. Cement dust can irritate the eyes, skin and respiratory system, and prolonged skin contact may lead to dermatitis or alkaline burns. Wear gloves, eye protection and suitable protective clothing, avoid breathing in dust (use a dust mask when needed) and wash skin thoroughly after handling. Store in a dry place. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
