DTA Silicone Remover Dual Action Hand Tool (Single)

Description

The DTA Silicone Remover is a dual-action hand tool for stripping cured silicone, acrylic sealant and leftover adhesive, supplied as a single tool in a blister pack. It is aimed at tilers, renovators and DIYers who need to clear old joints and surfaces before resealing, retiling or refinishing.

About the tool
The tool has a right-angled blade that works on both the push and the pull stroke, so you can choose the direction that gives the best leverage in a given joint. The blade is described as flexible, which helps it lift material without gouging the surface underneath. A contoured rubber handle gives a comfortable, secure grip and helps reduce hand fatigue during longer clean-out jobs.

Where to use it
Indoors: clearing old silicone or acrylic beads around tiles, baths, basins, benchtops and similar joints, and lifting adhesive residue (such as leftover double-sided tape) when preparing a surface for new work.
Outdoors: the tool is a manual scraper with no chemical content, so it can also be used on exterior joints and surfaces when old sealant needs to be removed before resealing.

It is designed for removing silicone, acrylic and adhesive residues from surfaces and tiles during surface preparation.

How to use it
Work on a dry surface. If the old bead is well bonded, cutting along its edges with a utility knife first can make removal easier. Place the angled blade at the edge of the bead and push or pull along the joint, using whichever stroke gives better control. Lift away the loosened material, then finish by wiping or cleaning the surface so it is ready for the new sealant or adhesive. Always follow the instructions of the product you are applying next.

Important notes
This is a mechanical scraping tool. It removes the bulk of cured material but may leave a thin film of residue, which may need a suitable cleaner or solvent that is safe for your surface. Test on an inconspicuous spot first if you are working on delicate or easily scratched finishes. Use steady, controlled pressure so the blade does not slip.
