Description
The Dulux Renovation Range Grout Pen is a ready-to-use 7ml pen that brings tired, stained grout lines back to a clean white without the mess and effort of re-grouting. It suits kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, and works well as the finishing touch after a tile makeover with the Dulux Renovation Range.
About the formula
The pen delivers a white coating that is painted directly over existing grout. It has a shaped, self-guiding tip designed to cover both narrow and wide grout lines. Dulux describes it as fast drying. The Safety Data Sheet shows a solvent-containing formula, so it needs more care than a water-based paint (see Safety below).
Where to use it
Indoors: grout lines on kitchen, bathroom and laundry tiles, including grout lines next to surfaces painted with Dulux Renovation Range paint.
Outdoors: not intended for outdoor use.
Designed for cementitious grout lines between tiles. Unpainted grout must be clean before you start: remove grease, dirt and other contamination first.
How to use it
Make sure the grout is clean and dry. Run the tip along the grout line with a steady hand and let the tip guide itself. If the flow of paint slows, wipe the tip with a soft cloth and press it a few times to get the paint flowing again. On vertical surfaces, work from the bottom upwards. Apply two coats, leaving at least one hour between them. Keep the pen capped and lying flat when not in use.
Important notes
Dulux lists a touch-dry time of about 1 hour and a re-coat time of about 8 hours. The retailer specifications list a minimum application temperature of 10°C. The pen is not tintable. It is made for interior grout lines only and is not a replacement for regrouting where grout is crumbling or missing. Test on a small, inconspicuous section first if you are unsure how it will look.

Safety
It is a Category 2 flammable liquid (highly flammable liquid and vapour, Hazchem code 3YE). Keep it away from heat and ignition sources, use it in a well-ventilated area, keep the pen capped when not in use, and keep it out of reach of children. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
