Description
Dunlop Coloured Silicone is a flexible acetic-cure sealant designed to finish and protect the joints that grout alone cannot handle. Because the colour range is matched to the Dunlop Coloured Grout palette, you can seal wall junctions, bath edges and benchtop joints in a shade that blends seamlessly with your tiling for a clean, coordinated finish. It applies easily from a standard 310ml cartridge, bonds strongly, stays waterproof and is backed by a 10 year guarantee.
Where to use it
Use it on wall and floor junctions, tiled surfaces and benchtops, bath edges, cupboards, splashbacks and movement joints, both indoors and outdoors. It is waterproof and suitable for use in showers, and offers strong adhesion to ceramic tiles, glass, enamel, anodised aluminium, granite, porcelain and sanitary acrylics.
How to use
Make sure joints are clean, dry and free of dust, old sealant and excess adhesive. Cut the cartridge tip and nozzle to suit the joint width, load into a caulking gun and apply a continuous bead into the joint. Tool the bead smooth within a few minutes of application, before a skin forms, and remove any masking tape immediately. Apply at temperatures between 5°C and 40°C and allow the silicone to cure fully before exposing it to water.
Important notes
This is an acetic-cure silicone, so do not use it under waterproofing membranes or against mirror backings, as it can damage those surfaces — choose a neutral-cure silicone for such jobs. Suits joints up to 30mm wide and 15mm deep.
