Description
Dunlop Express Wet Area Tape is a self-adhesive waterproofing joint tape that seals the most leak-prone parts of a wet area, the joints where floor meets wall, and around shower grates and outlets. Simply peel and stick: no messy fillets, no waiting for a bond breaker to cure. Paired with Dunlop Express Wet Area Waterproofing membrane it forms a rapid, complete waterproofing system that lets tiling commence just four hours after the membrane goes on.
Where to use it
Suitable for indoor and outdoor wet areas including bathrooms, showers, laundries and balconies. It performs over AAC blocks, fibre-cement sheet, concrete, renders, screeds and wet area grade plasterboard.
How to use
Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and dust-free. Peel the backing and press the tape firmly along floor/wall junctions, corners and around penetrations such as shower grates and outlets. Where two lengths of tape meet, overlap them by a minimum of 15mm. Then apply Dunlop Express Wet Area Waterproofing membrane over the taped joints and the rest of the area as normal.
Important notes
A standard shower recess with 1.8m high walls needs roughly 7m of tape, so one 10m roll comfortably covers a typical shower. Used with the Express membrane, the system meets Australian Building standards for wet area waterproofing.
