Description
Dunlop Premixed Mastic Tile Adhesive is a high performance, ready-to-use wall tile adhesive from Dunlop Trade (ARDEX Australia). Supplied in a convenient 20kg pail, there is no mixing, no mess and no guesswork – just open the lid and start trowelling. Its superior non-slump formulation holds even large format wall tiles and dimensional stone such as marble and granite firmly in place while you work, and its high flexibility and tenacity make it a favourite with tilers who want dependable grab straight off the trowel.
Where to use it
Designed for indoor walls only. It is ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and splashbacks, and its unique formulation allows use in wet areas. Fix ceramic wall tiles, granite and marble (excluding moisture sensitive stone) over cement render, plasterboard, fibre-cement sheet, suitably prepared painted surfaces and Dunlop Waterproofing Membrane (porous tiles only).
How to use
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and sound. Spread the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel, working in manageable sections, then press tiles firmly into the ribs with a slight twisting action. Adjust tiles within about 45 minutes of laying (at 23°C and 50% humidity). The adhesive dries in approximately 24 hours depending on temperature, and the porosity of the surface and tiles, after which grouting can proceed.
Important notes
Do not use over waterproofing membranes with dense or glazed tiles – use porous tiles only, as the adhesive will not dry properly between two non-absorbent layers. Not suitable for floors or exterior applications.
