Description
Dunlop Undertile Waterproofing is a hard-wearing, highly flexible liquid membrane that forms a seamless waterproof barrier beneath tiles. Brushed on straight from the pail, its ready-mixed blue formula makes it easy to see your coverage as you build the film, and once cured it protects the structure beneath showers, laundries and balconies from moisture damage for the long haul.
Where to use it
Designed for indoor wet areas such as showers, bathrooms and laundries, as well as balconies. It bonds to AAC blocks, bricks, concrete, renders, screeds, fibre-cement sheet, marine plywood and wet area grade plasterboard on both walls and floors.
How to use
Prime the prepared surface with the appropriate Dunlop primer, then brush on the first coat of membrane, embedding Dunlop Reinforcing Mat into wall/floor junctions, corners, hobs and joints while it is wet. Once the first coat has dried, apply a second coat at right angles to the first to reach the required film thickness, then tile over it with a compatible Dunlop tile adhesive.
Important notes
Australian Standard AS3740 sets minimum membrane thicknesses: after two coats, the dry film must be at least 1mm on floors and 0.5mm on walls. Check your local council requirements before starting. The membrane is certified to AS4858 and AS4654.
