The Empire 225mm Magnetic Torpedo Level with True Blue e-BAND vials is a slim, pocket-friendly level for checking level, plumb and 45 degree angles on the job. The e-BAND vials are designed to make the bubble easier to read, and the V-groove and magnetic edge let it sit steady on pipe, conduit and metal surfaces.
About the product
This 225mm (9 inch) torpedo level has an aluminium frame with a top read window, so you can check the vials from above as well as from the front. Its e-BAND vials use a high contrast blue band to outline the edge of the bubble, which helps you read it in a range of lighting conditions. High contrast vial surrounds add to the clarity. Rare earth magnets are built into the V-groove edge for hands-free positioning on metal. It is made in the USA with global materials.
Where to use it
Indoors: levelling and plumbing steel stud framing, brackets, cabinets, shelving and fittings, and checking pipework or conduit runs.
Outdoors: setting out fixtures, posts and metal framing, and checking pipe falls and fittings on site.
How to use it
- Three vials read level, plumb and 45 degrees.
- Rest the V-groove edge on a pipe or conduit for stable, accurate alignment on round or contoured surfaces.
- Use the magnetic edge to hold the level against steel or other ferrous metal, so both hands stay free.
- Wipe the edges clean before use so dust or grit does not affect how the level sits.
- Its compact size fits in a tool belt, pocket or tool bag.
Important notes
The magnets only hold on magnetic (ferrous) metals, so they will not grip aluminium, stainless steel types that are not magnetic, timber or masonry. Keep the magnetic edge away from credit cards and other magnetically sensitive items. Treat it as a precision instrument and avoid dropping it or using it as a hammer or pry tool. If you suspect it has been knocked out of true, check it against a known level surface before relying on it.

Care and storage
Wipe the level clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth after use and dry it before storing. Keep it in a tool bag or belt pocket where it will not be knocked about, and store it away from moisture. Keep the strong magnets away from small children, pacemakers and electronic devices.
