Gorilla Super Glue 20g

Description

Gorilla Super Glue 20g is a fast-setting, clear-drying instant adhesive for quick household repairs, supplied here as a single 20g bottle. It is a rubber-reinforced cyanoacrylate that grips within seconds and is designed to cope with everyday knocks and drops better than a standard instant glue.

About the formula
A liquid ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive that cures when it meets the trace moisture on the surfaces being joined, so no clamping or mixing is needed. Gorilla markets the rubber-toughened formula as Impact-Tough, meaning the cured bond is better able to absorb bumps and wear. The bottle has an anti-clog cap with a metal pin inside that seals out air, which helps stop the glue drying out in the nozzle and lets you come back to the same bottle for repeat jobs. Once cured, the glue dries clear for a neat finish.

Where to use it
Indoors: small household repairs such as ceramics and crockery that will not be used for food, trinkets, toys, craft pieces, leather goods, paper items and loose trim or fittings.
Outdoors: the manufacturer recommends Gorilla Super Glue primarily for indoor use, so choose a more weather-resistant adhesive for outdoor repairs that face constant moisture or sun.

Suitable materials include metal, wood, ceramic, stone, rubber, leather, paper and most plastics. It is not recommended for polyethylene, polypropylene or similar plastics, and it is best to test an inconspicuous spot on any plastic first.

How to use it
Protect your work area from spills, and make sure the surfaces are clean and dry. Open the cap and apply a small amount to one surface, as a thin layer gives the best result. Press the parts together and hold them still until the glue grips, which takes seconds, so no clamp is needed. Wipe the nozzle clean and refit the cap firmly after each use so the metal pin can seal the bottle.

Important notes
Cyanoacrylates need a little surface moisture to cure, so extremely dry surfaces can bond more slowly. Excess glue can bond skin in moments, so work carefully and keep fingers clear of the joint. Do not use as a load-bearing safety device. Not recommended for polyethylene or polypropylene plastics. Once cured, the manufacturer states the bond can hold from about -53°C to 104°C. Gorilla suggests unopened shelf life of roughly 18 to 24 months from manufacture, and up to about 6 months once opened is a good guide.
