Description
Gorilla Super Glue Gel is a thick, no-run cyanoacrylate adhesive for quick household repairs, supplied here as a 20g bottle. The gel body gives you much more control than a thin liquid super glue, so it suits vertical surfaces, uneven parts and small jobs where you do not want drips. It sets fast with no clamping and dries clear.
About the formula
An ethyl cyanoacrylate gel that sets in about 10 to 45 seconds depending on the amount of glue and the surface. It is formulated to cope with knocks, drops and shocks, so repaired items stand up to everyday handling better than with a brittle super glue. The bottle has an anti-clog cap with a metal pin that helps keep air out, so the glue stays usable between jobs. The gel can separate over time, so shake the capped bottle before use.
Where to use it
Indoors: household and craft repairs on ceramics, trims, handles, toys, shoes and leather goods, small furniture fixes, and other jobs where a quick, clear bond is wanted.
Outdoors: the manufacturer recommends Gorilla Super Glue primarily for indoor use, so treat this product as an indoor repair glue.
Suitable materials include most plastics, metal, wood, ceramic, stone, rubber, leather, paper and fabric. Not recommended for polyethylene, polypropylene or similar low-energy plastics. Test a small hidden area first on delicate or finished surfaces.
How to use it
Protect your work area from spills. Make sure the surfaces are clean and dry. With the cap on, shake the bottle, then turn it upside down and tap it on a hard surface to move the gel into the nozzle. Remove the cap and apply a small amount to one surface only. Use about one drop per 6.5 cm2, because too much glue can delay the bond or cause it to fail. Press the parts together for about 10 to 45 seconds. Gaps and uneven surfaces can slow the bond. Allow 24 hours for a full cure. After use, wipe the nozzle with a dry cloth, refit the cap and keep the bottle in a cool, dry place away from moisture.
Important notes
Not for use on polyethylene or polypropylene plastics. Cyanoacrylate bonds skin in seconds, so never pull bonded skin apart. Soak the area in warm soapy water and gently work it free, or use acetone according to the solvent maker's directions. Acetone can mar surfaces and discolour fabric. The glue reacts with water and alkaline materials, generating heat, so keep it away from moisture. It is not intended for food contact and should not be stored in the fridge.
