Description
Gorilla Tape Tough & Wide is an extra-wide, heavy-duty duct tape for bigger repairs, patching and bundling jobs, supplied here as a single 73mm x 22.8m roll. The wider 73mm width covers more area in fewer strips, and it pairs a thick adhesive layer with a reinforced backing so it holds where ordinary duct tape tends to let go.
About the formula
The adhesive is a concentrated rubber-based formula applied in a heavier layer than standard duct tape, which helps it grip into rough textures and take up small surface irregularities. The reinforced, tightly woven backing adds strength and body, yet the tape can still be torn by hand without scissors. The outer shell is built to stand up to moisture, UV exposure and temperature swings.
Where to use it
Indoors: patching, sealing and bundling, holding items in place temporarily, and general household and workshop repairs.
Outdoors: repairs and holds on exposed surfaces where sun, damp and changing temperatures would break down a lighter tape.
Suitable surfaces include wood, stone, stucco, brick, metal and vinyl, including rough and uneven finishes. It may not hold well on materials with a high oil or plasticiser content, such as EPDM rubber, so test a small area first.
How to use it
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of dirt, grease and oil. Tear off the length you need by hand, or cut it with a knife or scissors. Press the tape onto the surface and rub it down firmly, smoothing out any pockets or wrinkles, to get the best grip.
Important notes
Store the roll in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight, to keep dirt and debris off the edges. Performance depends on the surface and conditions, so test first on critical or delicate surfaces. Not intended as a substitute for electrical insulation tape.
