Description
Hy-Clor Algaecide is a mid-strength liquid pool algaecide that helps prevent algae from taking hold and clears it when it appears, supplied here in a 1L bottle. It pours straight into the pool and is designed to sit in a regular maintenance routine alongside your normal sanitiser, keeping water clear and swimmable.
About the formula
A fast-acting, pour-in liquid with a mid-strength quaternary ammonium (benzalkonium chloride) base. It is a metal-free formulation, and the added ammonium component gives extra protection against algae. It is suitable for all filter types and won't cloud the pool water. Hy-Clor positions it as especially effective on green algae.
Where to use it
Indoors: not intended for indoor use.
Outdoors: salt and chlorine swimming pools, including in-ground and above-ground pools, small pools and swim spas. Suitable for all pool surfaces. Use it weekly as a preventative, after heavy pool use, and before or after rain, wind or other extreme weather. It also helps keep pools green-free over the cooler months.
How to use it
1. Shake the bottle well before use.
2. Brush the pool to disturb the algae.
3. Adjust the water to a pH of 7.2 to 7.6.
4. Bring chlorine levels to between 1 and 3 ppm.
5. Add the algaecide while the filter is running.
6. Vacuum the pool 24 hours after adding the algaecide.
For a heavy algae problem, the manufacturer's recommended dose is 900ml per 10,000 litres of pool water. Check the label for maintenance doses suited to your pool size.
Important notes
An algaecide supports your sanitiser and does not replace it, so keep up regular water testing and filtration. Results depend on how heavy the algae is, and badly affected pools may need a repeat treatment. Hy-Clor also offers copper-based and higher-strength algaecides if you need something stronger or longer lasting. This product is for swimming pool use only.

Safety
Use with normal care: avoid breathing in mists, work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and wear gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate. Wash your hands and face thoroughly after use. Keep out of reach of children and store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
