Description
The Jack Outdoor Ultrasonic Animal Repeller is a motion-activated, chemical-free deterrent that helps keep dogs, cats and rodents out of your garden, backyard or pond area. It is battery powered and made to be set up in minutes, either on the supplied ground stake or fixed to a wall.
About the product
A built-in Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor watches for movement. When it picks something up, the unit fires short bursts of ultrasonic sound intended to make the area unwelcoming to uninvited animal visitors. It is designed to be safe and humane, with no baits, sprays or traps involved. A sensitivity dial lets you adjust the range, up to 8 metres or about 45 square metres of coverage, depending on weather and surroundings. An LED indicator on the front shows the unit's status.
Where to use it
Indoors: not intended for indoor use.
Outdoors: garden beds, vegetable patches, lawns, patios, driveways, backyards and areas around ponds where you want to discourage animals from visiting.
How to use it
- Open the battery cover at the back and insert 3 x AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Staking: assemble the 2 piece ground stake, push it into the base, then push the stake into the ground.
- Wall mounting: fix the bracket in place with suitable screws and hang the repeller on it.
- Turn the sensitivity dial to set the coverage you need, up to 8m or 45sqm.
- Leave the unit switched on continuously so it can work day and night.
- If the ground is too hard for the plastic stake, try standing the unit in a flower pot filled with a weighted material.
Important notes
Position the repeller so that the PIR sensor has a clear view of the area you want to protect and is not covered. The sensor reacts to movement, so moving branches or foliage in its field of view can also trigger it. Detection range and angle (110 degrees horizontal) vary with weather and surroundings. The unit will be exposed to the elements, so do not immerse it in water. Results can vary between animals and sites. Ultrasonic deterrents are best treated as one part of an overall garden protection plan.

Care and storage
Keep the unit out of standing water and do not cover the PIR sensor. Remove the batteries if you will not use the repeller for an extended period and replace them with fresh alkaline batteries when the unit weakens. Store in a dry place when not in use, and keep out of reach of children.
