Kincrome 1/4" Drive Micrometre Torque Wrench 5-25Nm (MTW200I)

Description

The Kincrome MTW200I is a compact 1/4 inch drive micrometre-style click torque wrench for small fasteners that need a controlled, repeatable tightening force. It covers 5 to 25 Nm (44.3 to 221.3 in/lb), and it suits workshop, automotive and general mechanical jobs. It comes in a blow-moulded case with a calibration certificate.

About the product
The wrench body is nickel chrome plated alloy, and it has a reversible ratchet head with a 1/4 inch square drive. Torque scales in Nm and in/lb are engraved on the barrel. You set the target by turning the micrometre-type sleeve. When the preset torque is reached, the wrench gives an audible click and a brief release of tension. There is no dial or pointer to watch, so you can work in tight spots, in low light, around oil, in noisy areas or on vibrating machinery.

Where to use it
Workshop: engine and gearbox covers, small brackets, sensors, carburettor and intake fittings, and other low-torque fasteners.
Garage and field: motorcycle, bicycle, small engine and general equipment servicing where a specific tightening value is called for.

How to use it

  • Unlock the sleeve, then turn it until the barrel reads your target value in Nm or in/lb.
  • Lock the setting, fit a 1/4 inch drive socket and pull smoothly in a clockwise direction.
  • Stop as soon as you hear and feel the click. Do not keep pulling past that point.
  • Use the forward/reverse lever on the ratchet head to switch drive direction for running fasteners on or off. Tighten only in the torque-measuring direction.

Important notes
This wrench measures torque in one direction only and is for standard right-hand threads. It is not intended for use as a breaker bar, pry bar or hammer. The manufacturer states accuracy of +/- 4% of the setting, with calibration to ISO 6789-1:2017, and accuracy outside the stated minimum and maximum range is not guaranteed. The manufacturer recommends periodic recalibration, at least every 12 months, to keep it accurate.
