Description
The Lasertec CX2G is a compact, self-levelling crossline laser that projects bright green horizontal and vertical lines, making it a handy everyday tool for DIYers and tradies who need quick, accurate set-out. It is light enough to carry in a tool bag and simple enough to set up in seconds.
About the product
The CX2G uses a pendulum self-levelling system to settle itself and project one horizontal and one vertical line that cross each other. The green beam is easier for most people to see than a standard red beam, especially in well-lit rooms. The unit has a locking switch that holds the pendulum when it is switched off or being carried. A tilt lock (manual) mode lets you set lines at an angle when you need them, and a pulse mode lets you work with an optional laser detector (sold separately) at longer range.
Where to use it
Indoors: hanging shelves, cabinets and picture rows, setting out tiles, aligning wall panelling, framing and plasterboard, and marking straight lines across walls.
Outdoors: with an optional detector (sold separately), it can be used for general levelling and set-out in brighter conditions where the beam is hard to see by eye.
How to use it
- Place the laser on a flat surface, or fix it to the supplied magnetic mount, or to any tripod with a 1/4 inch thread.
- Slide the locking switch to the unlocked position to power on in self-levelling mode.
- Use the locked position with the power button for tilt lock (manual) mode when you need an angled line.
- Hold the power button for about 3 seconds to switch to pulse mode when using an optional detector.
- Slide the switch back to the locked position to switch off and protect the pendulum.
What is included
- Lasertec CX2G crossline laser
- Magnetic mount
- Laser target
- AA alkaline batteries
- Carry pouch
Important notes
The laser self-levels within a limited range of about 4 degrees either side of level, so it needs to be set up roughly level to work. In tilt lock mode the unit does not self-level or correct for bumps and vibration. The detector needed for extended outdoor range is not included. Always confirm your measurements against a known reference on critical jobs.

Care and storage
Do not look directly into the laser beam and do not point it at other people. Switch the laser off when it is not in use and keep it out of reach of children. Slide the locking switch to the locked position before transport, and store it in the carry pouch in a cool, dry place. Remove the batteries if the laser will not be used for a long time, and wipe the housing with a soft, dry cloth.
