Description
The Makita DHP484Z is a compact 18V brushless hammer driver drill built for trades and serious DIYers who want a hard-working, durable drill that can drill, drive and hammer through masonry, all in one tool. It is supplied as a skin (tool only), so it suits anyone who already owns Makita 18V LXT batteries and a charger.
About the product
The drill is powered by a brushless motor, which is designed for efficient power delivery and long run times. A durable aluminium gear housing and all-metal gear construction add strength where the drill takes the most load. Makita's XPT protection is designed to guard against dust and moisture, which helps on busy sites and in workshops. A twin LED job light with an after-glow function lights up the work area, and the compact 182mm overall length lets you get into tighter spots.
Where to use it
Indoors: fitting cabinets and hardware, framing and carpentry, running electrical and plumbing fixings, and general drilling and fastening around the house or workshop.
Outdoors: decking and fencing, drilling into masonry and concrete for anchors, and general site work.
Suitable for drilling and driving into timber, steel and masonry or concrete (hammer mode), with Makita's rated maximum capacities listed in the specifications below.
How to use it
- Mechanical 2-speed gearbox: use the low gear for driving screws and the high gear for faster drilling.
- Variable speed trigger with an electric brake for good control.
- 21 torque settings plus drill mode, so you can match the clutch to the fastener.
- Single sleeve keyless chuck for quick bit changes.
- Hammer mode for masonry and concrete, and standard drill mode for timber and steel.
- Belt clip and a double-ended bit are listed by Makita with this model.
- Fits Makita 18V LXT batteries (battery and charger sold separately).
Important notes
This is a skin only unit, so it does not include a battery, charger or carry case. Capacities and torque figures are maximums under Makita's test conditions, so real-world results will vary with the material, bit and battery used. Always use sharp, correct-size bits and the right mode for the material.
