Description
The Makita DCG180Z is a cordless 18V caulking gun that dispenses standard 300ml cartridges without the hand fatigue of a manual gun, supplied here as a skin only (tool body without battery or charger). It suits tradies and DIYers who run long beads of silicone, acrylic or construction adhesive and want steady, controllable flow with a clean finish.
About the product
The gun gives you two ways to control flow: a dial sets the maximum dispensing speed and the variable speed trigger lets you fine tune the bead as you work. An anti-drip function stops excess sealant oozing out when you release the trigger by relieving the pressure inside the cartridge. The sealant holder rotates 360 degrees so you can position the nozzle to suit the joint, and an overload indicator lamp warns you if the tool is being pushed too hard.

Where to use it
Indoors: bathroom, kitchen and laundry joints, skirting and architrave gaps, window and door frames, cabinetry and panel adhesive work.
Outdoors: external window and door perimeters, cladding joints, gutters, flashings and general building sealing, using cartridge products suited to exterior use.
How to use it
Insert a compatible Makita 18V lithium-ion battery (not included), load a standard 300ml cartridge into the holder with the nozzle cut to suit your bead size, then set the maximum speed on the dial. Squeeze the trigger gently to start the flow and increase pressure for a faster bead. Rotate the holder to the most comfortable angle for the joint, and engage the trigger lock when you put the tool down.
Important notes
This is a skin only: the battery and charger are sold separately. It is designed for cartridge-style sealants and adhesives. Choose the cartridge product to suit your surfaces and conditions, and follow that product's directions for preparation, tooling time and curing. If the overload lamp comes on, ease off and check the cartridge, nozzle opening and product thickness.

Care and storage
Clean the holder and piston after use, wiping away any uncured sealant before it sets. Remove the battery before changing cartridges, cleaning or storing the tool, and use the trigger lock when it is not in use. Keep the tool in a dry place away from moisture, and keep it out of reach of children. Always follow the instruction manual supplied with the tool.
