Description
The Master Lock 40mm Brass Combination Padlock is a keyless padlock with a 4-digit code you choose yourself, so there are no keys to carry or lose. It suits everyday security around the home, workshop and yard, from sheds and gates to lockers, chains and chests.
About the product
The 40mm wide body is solid aluminium with a brass finish, giving a durable lock with a classic look. The 6mm chrome-plated steel shackle is designed to resist cutting and sawing, and it has 26mm of vertical clearance to fit a range of hasps, latches and chain links. You pick your own 4-digit code, which gives thousands of possible combinations, and Master Lock lists the code as resettable so you can change it later. The padlock is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty from Master Lock.
Where to use it
Indoors: lockers, toolboxes, storage units, chests and cabinets.
Outdoors: garden sheds, gates and chained items around the yard or property.
How to use it
- Choose a 4-digit code and set it following the instructions supplied with the padlock.
- Scramble the dials, loop the shackle through your hasp, latch or chain, and press it closed.
- To open, line up your code and release the shackle.
- To change the code, follow the reset steps in the supplied instructions.
Important notes
Choose a code that is easy for you to remember but not obvious, such as a birth date or 1234, and keep a record of it somewhere safe. This is a general-purpose combination padlock. For higher-risk applications, consider a lock matched to the level of security you need.

Care and storage
Keep the dials clean and free of dirt and grit, and avoid forcing them if they feel stiff. Store your code in a safe place and keep spare padlocks somewhere dry. Check your hasp or chain regularly, because a lock is only as secure as what it is fixed to.
