About the product
The body is made from steel and plastic, with a moulded outer and a vinyl-coated shackle that helps stop the door knob and surrounding surfaces getting scratched. A four-digit combination dial opens the safe, and you choose the code yourself, so you can change it whenever the people who need access change. A hinged shutter covers the dials to keep out rain, dust and grime, and the roomy internal cavity is designed to avoid jamming when several keys are stored inside.
Where to use it
Indoors: over an internal door knob or handle for temporary key storage, or to share access with cleaners, carers and visitors.
Outdoors: hung on an external door knob for short-term key handover, with the shutter protecting the dials from weather and dirt. It is weather-resistant only, so it is not designed to be submerged or left in pooling water.
How to use it
- Set your own four-digit code following the instructions supplied in the pack.
- Place your keys or access cards in the internal cavity and close the body.
- Hang the shackle over the door knob, then scramble the dials and close the shutter.
- To open, enter your code, release the shackle or open the body and retrieve the keys.
- Change the combination whenever you want to restrict or update who has access.
Important notes
This is a portable key safe for convenient key sharing. It is not rated as waterproof or fire-safe, and it has no pre-drilled holes for wall mounting. Choose a code that is not easy to guess and avoid leaving the safe hanging in a visible spot when no one needs access. Check that the shackle fits your door knob style before relying on it. Care and storage
Wipe the body clean with a damp cloth and keep the shutter closed when not in use. In cold or wet climates, or if the safe has not been used for a while, apply a little suitable lubricant to keep the dials moving smoothly. Store somewhere dry when not in service and keep your combination private.
