Mechanix Wear SpeedKnit CR5 gloves in size Small give you a knit, cut-resistant work glove with a grippy nitrile palm, made for handling sharp or abrasive materials without giving up feel. They suit trades, tradies' toolboxes and keen DIYers who deal with sheet metal edges, offcuts, glass handling prep, packaging and general site work.
About the product
The shell is knitted from HPPE (high-performance polyethylene) fibres and is described by the manufacturer as 360° cut resistant, so protection wraps around the whole hand rather than only the palm. It carries an EN 388: 2003 cut resistance rating of Level 5 and an ANSI A3 cut rating. The palm and fingers are coated in a heavy-duty nitrile for a durable grip on abrasive items, and there is a stretchy back for a comfortable, close fit.
Where to use it
Indoors: workshop and garage jobs, handling sharp offcuts, cutting and trimming sheet materials, assembly and general maintenance.
Outdoors: site work, landscaping and construction tasks where sharp or rough materials are around.
How to use it
- Check that your hands fit comfortably in the Small size before starting work, as loose gloves reduce grip and control.
- Wear the gloves on both hands whenever you handle sharp or abrasive items.
- Inspect the shell and palm coating before each use and replace the gloves if they are cut, worn through or damaged.
- When they get dirty, machine wash them, following the care label on the glove.
Important notes
Cut resistant does not mean cut proof. Take care around blades and sharp tools, and do not wear these gloves near rotating or moving machinery. These gloves are not insulated, not lined, not heat resistant and not water resistant, so they are not the right choice for hot work or wet conditions. The knuckles are not padded and the cuff has no adjustable strap. The gloves do not contain latex.

Care and storage
Wash when dirty, following the care label, and let the gloves dry fully before storing. Keep them in a clean, dry place away from direct heat, sharp tools and chemicals that could damage the coating. Replace worn or damaged gloves promptly.
