Monarch Caulk & Sealant Remover Tool (Single)

Description

The Monarch Caulk & Sealant Remover is a simple hand tool for stripping out old silicone, sealant and caulk before you apply a fresh bead. Clearing the old material properly is the step that decides how well new sealant bonds and looks, and this lightweight blue tool makes that job quicker and tidier for both DIYers and tradies.

About the tool
It is a moulded plastic scraper with a V-shaped head, designed to follow into corners and joints where flat scrapers struggle. Monarch states that it removes old sealant quickly, is lightweight, cleans up easily and will not scratch surfaces. A built-in handle keeps it comfortable to grip during repetitive scraping. It is a tool only, so it contains no chemicals and needs no batteries or power.

Where to use it
Indoors: removing perished or mouldy silicone and caulk from joints and corners before resealing, such as around baths, showers, basins, benchtops and splashbacks.
Outdoors: lifting old sealant from window and door frames and other joints ahead of resealing.

It is intended for removing cured silicone, sealant and caulk. As with any scraper, test on a small hidden spot first if the surface is delicate, polished or freshly painted.

How to use it
Place the V-shaped head into the joint and push or pull it along the line of the old sealant, working in short strokes so the material lifts away in strips. Use the pointed corners of the head to reach into internal corners. Once the bulk is removed, clear any remaining residue and make sure the joint is clean and dry before you apply new sealant. Wipe the tool clean after use, since it is easy to clean and can be reused.

Important notes
This tool removes the sealant but will not dissolve it, so thick or well-bonded beads may need a few passes. Stubborn thin films of residue may need a suitable cleaner or solvent suited to the surface, which is not included. Do not use it as a pry bar or on surfaces that could be damaged by a plastic edge without testing first.
