Description
The Monarch Ultra Lite Speed Caulking Gun is a lightweight, plastic-bodied applicator for sealant cartridges, built to cut hand fatigue on long runs of caulking and on jobs where you are holding the gun at awkward angles. It is a handy everyday tool for DIYers and tradies who want something lighter than a traditional steel gun.
About the tool
The body is moulded plastic, which makes it noticeably lighter than a steel gun of the same style. A twist-lock housing grips the cartridge firmly, including when you release the trigger pressure, so the cartridge stays seated in the gun. The grip is shaped for comfort, the gun has a dripless action to help keep the work tidy, and a built-in ladder hook gives you somewhere to hang it between tasks.
Where to use it
Indoors: applying sealants, gap fillers and adhesives supplied in cartridges around bathrooms, kitchens, trims, skirtings and window or door frames.
Outdoors: caulking jobs up a ladder or on a roof, where a lighter gun and a hang-up hook make the work easier.
Designed for use with sealant cartridges. Check that the cartridge you plan to use suits the gun before starting.
How to use it
Twist and unlock the housing, load the cartridge, then twist the housing to lock it in place. Prepare the cartridge as the sealant maker directs, including cutting the nozzle at the size needed for your joint. Squeeze the trigger steadily and keep a consistent speed along the joint for an even bead. To swap cartridges, release the pressure, then twist to unlock and remove the housing and cartridge, and fit the next one.
Important notes
This is a hand tool only and does not include sealant or cartridges. Wipe off any sealant residue before it cures so the mechanism keeps working smoothly. Check the sealant maker's instructions for the product you are applying.
