Description
Moroday Double Sided PE Foam Tape is an economical, dependable black foam tape for bonding and mounting jobs around the home, workshop and vehicle, supplied here as a 24mm wide x 25m long roll. The polyethylene foam core is flexible, and the adhesive on both faces lets you join parts without screws or visible fixings.
About the formula
A double sided tape built on a 2mm polyethylene foam carrier. Moroday describes it as offering strong adhesion, flexibility, resistance to solvents and chemicals, and UV stability, so it suits both indoor and outdoor use. The foam body also helps cushion the joint and fill small irregularities between parts.
Where to use it
Indoors: bonding and mounting lightweight items, electrical and general fitting jobs, and sealing around windows against draughts, moisture and noise.
Outdoors: exterior mounting and bonding tasks, automotive applications and window glazing, where the UV stable construction helps the tape cope with sun exposure.
Moroday does not publish a list of approved surfaces for this tape. Test it on a small, hidden area first, and check that it bonds well to your particular material before committing to the full job.
How to use it
Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease. Apply the tape to one surface, trim it to length, then peel off the backing liner. Press the second part into place and apply firm, even pressure along the whole length of the join.
Important notes
Heavy items, or items under load, need a trial run first, because the manufacturer does not state a weight rating. Allow the bond to settle before putting the joint under stress. Position parts carefully, as repositioning after contact can weaken the bond.
