Description
Multicrop Keep Off is a scatter-on crystal repellent that helps steer dogs and cats away from garden beds, paths and patios, supplied here as a 400g jar. It is a training aid rather than a barrier: the strong perfumed scent puts animals off and helps cover the smell of earlier marking, so they gradually learn to avoid the treated spot.
About the formula
Keep Off uses a highly perfumed repellent that cats and dogs find unpleasant but people generally do not. The scent also masks leftover urine and excrement odours that would normally draw animals back. The repellent is held inside white crystals that turn jelly-like when wet. They swell in rain or watering instead of washing away. In hot, dry weather they dry out and hold the scent in until the next rain or watering releases it. The active constituent is methyl nonyl ketone at 25g/kg. It is 100% Australian owned and made.
Where to use it
Indoors: not intended for indoor use.
Outdoors: garden beds, lawns, paths, patios and other outdoor spots where dogs or cats keep visiting.
How to use it
Remove any animal droppings first, then hose the area well to flush away leftover urine. Scatter the crystals sparingly over the area you want to protect. Repeat the whole process every few days until the habit has broken. Over about three to four weeks, animals can be trained to avoid the treated areas.
Important notes
Animals that have visited for a long time can take longer to discourage, and young puppies may respond more slowly. Some garden products, such as blood and bone, strongly attract cats and dogs and can overpower the repellent. Keep these away from the treated area for best results.
