Description
Perma Child Safety Adhesive Universal Flexi Locks are a simple, no-drill way to keep curious little hands out of drawers, cabinets and kitchen appliances, supplied here as a value pack of 20. Each lock uses a flexible 18cm strap with self-adhesive bases, so there are no screws or tools involved. They suit renters and anyone who wants to childproof without marking up their cabinetry.
About the product
Each lock is made up of a flexible strap and adhesive bases that stick to the surfaces on either side of the door or drawer, holding it closed. The manufacturer describes the strap as PVC, and the bases use a foam adhesive. The low-profile design is discreet and blends in with most existing décor. The manufacturer also notes the locks help reduce the risk of finger pinches.
Where to use it
Indoors: kitchen drawers and cupboards, bathroom and laundry cabinets, pantry doors, entertainment unit doors and many kitchen appliances such as the fridge or oven door.
Outdoors: designed for indoor household use.
The manufacturer states the adhesive bonds to surfaces such as coated timber, metal, tile, painted drywall and glass.
How to use it
- Choose where the strap will run across the door and drawer or appliance you want to secure.
- Clean and dry the surfaces so the adhesive can grip properly.
- Peel the backing from the adhesive bases and press them firmly onto the surfaces on each side.
- Connect the flexible strap so the door or drawer stays closed. No tools are required.
Important notes
Adhesive locks are only as secure as the surface they are stuck to, so check that each base is firmly attached before relying on it, and recheck from time to time. Raw, dusty, flaking or textured surfaces may not hold well. A childproof lock is an aid only and does not replace adult supervision.

Care and storage
Keep unused locks in their pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sun until you need them. Keep the straps and loose adhesive bases out of reach of babies and young children, and have an adult install the locks. If you need to move a lock, check the surface afterwards, as it may need a fresh base to hold well again.
