Description
Ramset UltraFix Plus is a fast-setting, styrene-free polyester anchoring adhesive for fixing threaded studs and reinforcing bar into solid concrete and hollow masonry, supplied here as a single 300ml cartridge with two mixer nozzles. It is a medium duty chemical anchor that fits a standard caulking gun, so it suits small to mid-sized fixing jobs on site or around the home without specialist dispensing gear.
About the formula
A two-part marine grade polyester resin. Part A is a polyester and filler paste and Part B is a peroxide catalyst, and the two are blended as the product passes through the mixer nozzle. The cartridge is styrene free for lower odour and is VOC compliant. The body is non-drip and resists slumping, which helps with horizontal and overhead holes. It is also designed to dispense easily in cool weather. The resin has been assessed for use in flooded holes under European Technical Assessment ETA 13/0681 (ETAG 001 Part 5, Option 7, in solid concrete).
Where to use it
Indoors: fixing brackets, hinges, plumbing and electrical fixtures and similar steel or timber fittings to solid concrete or hollow brick and block.
Outdoors: setting gates, fence posts and fittings, signposts, guard rails and hand rails into concrete or masonry, including damp or wet holes.
Suitable base materials include solid concrete, natural stone, hollow brick and hollow concrete block. It is intended for anchoring steel threaded rod, studs and reinforcing bar, and for fixing steel and timber fittings to those substrates. Hollow substrates are normally anchored with perforated sleeves (sold separately), so check Ramset installation data for your application.
How to use it
Drill the hole to the diameter and depth specified in Ramset installation data for your fixing, then clean it thoroughly with a brush and blow out the dust. Fit a mixer nozzle to the cartridge, load it into a standard caulking gun and dispense a little to waste until the mixed material is an even grey. Fill the hole from the bottom to avoid trapping air, then push the stud or bar in with a slight twist and leave it undisturbed. At 20°C the working time is about 6 minutes and the fixing can be loaded after about 50 minutes. Cure takes longer in cooler conditions. Always wear gloves and eye protection while mixing and installing.
Important notes
Use the supplied mixer nozzles only, as the adhesive relies on them to blend correctly. Do not use it in poorly ventilated or confined spaces. Cure and loading times depend on temperature, so allow longer when it is cold. For structural or load-critical fixings, follow Ramset technical data and engineering guidance for embedment, spacing and loading. Heavy duty or high-load applications may call for a higher-rated Ramset chemical anchor.

Safety
It is not classified as a physical hazard and is non-flammable. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection, avoid breathing vapours, wash thoroughly after handling and keep it out of drains and waterways. In case of eye contact, hold the eyes open and rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical help. For skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and wash the skin well, and seek advice if irritation or a rash develops. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
