Description
The Raven RP59 is a self-adhesive weather strip for door and window frames, supplied here in white as a 5m length (2 x 2.5m) that suits an average door frame. It is a soft EPDM rubber seal that sits in the corner between the stop and the frame, where it squeezes into the gap to form a compression seal.
About the product
The strip is made from extra soft EPDM sponge rubber with a self-adhesive backing, so you can fit it with simple tools and no fixings. It is designed for small gaps of 2mm to 4mm, and the compression seal helps cut down on draughts, dust, noise and insects around the frame.
Where to use it
Indoors: around the stops of internal door frames and window frames to tighten up gaps and reduce rattles and draughts.
Outdoors: on the frames of external doors and windows, set into the corner between stop and frame.
How to use it
- Check that the gap between the stop and the frame is between 2mm and 4mm.
- Make sure the contact surface is clean and smooth. Painted surfaces should be fully cured.
- Cut the strip to length with scissors or a box cutter. The 5m pack comes as two 2.5m lengths, which is enough for an average door frame.
- Peel back the backing, press the strip firmly into the corner between the stop and the frame, and work along the full length.
Important notes
The adhesive will not stick to oil-rubbed finishes. It is a non-stretch strip, so lay it in place rather than pulling it tight. Suited to Raven's listed door types (single and double, inward and outward opening, security screen and bi-fold) and window types (awning, casement and hopper).

Care and storage
Keep the strip in its pack until you are ready to fit it, and store it somewhere cool and dry out of direct sunlight. Apply to clean, dry surfaces for the best grip. If you ever need to replace it, peel the old strip off and clean away any residue before fitting a new one.
