Description
Roberts Quick-Repair Floor Putty in Dark Brown is a ready-to-use acrylic filler for hiding gaps, nicks and scratches in modern click-together and plank flooring, supplied in a handy 88ml squeeze tube. It suits quick touch-ups on existing floors as well as tidying up nail and screw holes during installation, and the dark brown shade can be used on its own or blended with other Roberts colours to get closer to your floor.
About the formula
An acrylic-based putty that is formulated to dry quickly without shrinking. Once dry it can be sanded or painted, so you can refine the repair after it sets. It is a low VOC formula, and it is supplied in a soft tube so you can apply it straight from the pack with no mixing. Roberts quotes a two-year shelf life.
Where to use it
Indoors: filling small scratches, chips, dents and open joints on laminate, hybrid, vinyl and engineered timber floors; concealing nail and screw holes while a floor is being installed; touching up localised damage on floors that are already in place.
Outdoors: not intended for exterior use.
Suitable surfaces include laminate, hybrid flooring, vinyl flooring and engineered timber flooring. Choose, or mix, a shade that matches the lightest base colour of the floor for the most natural result.
How to use it
Make sure the area is clean, dry and free of dust and loose debris. Knead the tube thoroughly for at least 20 seconds before use. Squeeze the putty into the gap, nick or hole and work it in with a putty knife or similar tool so it sits flush with the surface. Wipe excess off the surrounding floor with a damp rag before it dries, because dried residue on the floor surface is harder to remove. When the putty has dried it can be lightly sanded or painted if needed. Test the colour on an offcut or an inconspicuous spot first.
Important notes
This is a cosmetic filler for small damage, not a structural repair product. Deep chips or large missing areas may need a different repair method. The putty is not rated as water resistant, so it is not recommended for wet areas or continual moisture. Store at room temperature and do not let the tube freeze, as freezing may affect performance. Reseal the tube after use. Colour on screen may vary slightly from the real product, so check the shade before committing to a full repair.

Safety
It is marketed as low VOC and safe to use, but normal care still applies: avoid contact with eyes, keep out of reach of children, and wash hands after use. Do not swallow. Store the tube at room temperature and protect it from freezing. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
