Description
Roberts Quick-Repair Floor Putty in Tan is a ready-to-use acrylic putty for hiding gaps, nicks, scratches and fixing holes in laminate, hybrid, vinyl and engineered timber floors, supplied in an 88ml squeeze tube. It works as a quick touch-up fix for existing floors and as a finishing step during installation, and the colour can be used straight from the tube or blended with other Roberts putty shades to match your floor.
About the formula
An acrylic-based putty that is ready to use with no mixing. It dries quickly without shrinking, so the repair stays level with the surrounding surface. Once dry it can be sanded smooth or painted over. It is a low VOC formula and has a two-year shelf life.
Where to use it
Indoors: filling nail and screw holes during floor installation, and repairing chips, nicks, scratches and small gaps on floors that are already laid, including around joins and transitions.
Outdoors: not intended for outdoor use.
Suitable surfaces include laminate, hybrid and vinyl flooring (plank and tile) and engineered timber flooring.
How to use it
- Make sure the area is clean and free of dust and debris.
- Choose the Tan shade on its own, or mix it with other Roberts putty colours to get the closest match to your floor.
- Knead the tube well for at least 20 seconds before use.
- Cut the tip to suit the size of bead you need and press the putty into the damaged area.
- Spread it into the gap, nick or scratch with a putty knife so it fills evenly.
- Wipe away excess straight away with a damp rag and do not let it dry on the surrounding floor.
- Allow about 30 minutes to dry. The dried repair can be lightly sanded or painted if needed.
Important notes
Colour match depends on your floor, so test a small hidden spot first and blend shades if needed. Store at room temperature and do not let the tube freeze, as freezing can affect performance. This is not a structural or waterproof repair product. For large areas of damaged flooring, replace the affected boards or planks.
