Description
Roberts Quick-Repair Floor Putty in White is a ready-to-use acrylic putty for tidying up gaps, nicks, scratches and fixing holes in laminate, hybrid, vinyl and engineered timber floors, supplied in an 88ml squeeze tube. It suits both new installations and repairs to floors that are already down, and it can be used straight from the tube or blended with other Roberts putty colours to match your flooring.
About the formula
An acrylic-based putty that is designed not to shrink as it dries. It dries quickly, so you can sand or paint over the repair soon after filling. White is a mixable base shade, which means you can lighten other putty colours or tint it to get closer to your floor. It is low in VOCs and has a two-year shelf life.
Where to use it
Indoors: filling nail and screw holes during floor installation, closing small gaps between boards or planks, and covering chips, nicks and scratches on existing floors.
Outdoors: not intended for outdoor use. It is made for interior floors.
Suitable floors include laminate, hybrid, vinyl and engineered timber flooring. Always test the colour match in an inconspicuous spot first.
How to use it
Clean the area so it is free of grease and dirt. Knead the tube thoroughly for about 20 seconds, then snip the tip to suit the size of bead you need. Squeeze the putty into the damaged area, spread it and leave it to dry. Once dry it can be sanded smooth or painted over if needed. To match a particular floor, mix small amounts of different putty colours together before you apply.
Important notes
White often won't match a floor on its own, so blend it with other shades when you need an exact colour. Drying time depends on how deep the fill is and on room conditions, so allow extra time for deeper repairs before sanding or painting. Keep the cap on tightly after use and store the tube in a cool, dry place.
