Description
The Rocket Sanding Sponge Kit is a handy hand-sanding set for flat, curved and awkward shapes, supplied with 10 hook and loop sanding sheets in three grits so you can work from rough to smooth. It suits quick touch-ups and larger prep jobs alike, and the swap-in sheets keep the set practical for everyday DIY.
About the product
The kit is built around a flexible sponge-style sanding block with a hook and loop base, which lets you change sheets quickly without fuss. The soft sponge helps the abrasive follow contours and irregular profiles, while the same block still handles flat areas. The 10 sheets are split across three grits to cover heavier removal through to finer finishing.
What is included
- 3 sheets of 80 grit (coarse)
- 4 sheets of 120 grit (medium)
- 3 sheets of 240 grit (fine)
- Hook and loop sanding block with sponge base
Where to use it
Indoors: smoothing timber trim, furniture, plaster and painted or lacquered surfaces before recoating.
Outdoors: preparing timber, metal and fibreglass items ahead of repair or repainting.
Suitable surfaces include wood, plaster, painted and lacquered surfaces, metal, plastic and fibreglass.
How to use it
Press a sanding sheet onto the hook and loop base, starting with a coarser grit to level the surface or remove old finish. Sand with light, even pressure, following the shape of the surface. Move up to 120 grit, then 240 grit for a smoother finish, swapping sheets as they wear or clog. Wipe away dust before painting, staining or coating.
Important notes
Use lighter pressure on soft materials and on plastics to avoid scratching or marking. Replace sheets once they lose their bite for the best results. Test on a small, hidden area first if you are unsure how a surface will respond.

Care and storage
Wear a dust mask and safety glasses when sanding, and work in a well-ventilated area. Take extra care with old painted surfaces, as the dust may contain older paint ingredients. Brush the block clean after use and store it dry, away from moisture and out of reach of children.
