ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter's Masking Tape 24mm x 54.8m (Single Roll)

Description

ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter's Tape is a medium-adhesion blue masking tape for DIYers and professional painters, supplied here as a single 24mm wide roll of about 55 metres. It is made to protect trim, painted walls, tiles and glass while you paint, and it can stay in place for up to 14 days before coming off cleanly without leaving sticky residue behind.

About the tape
A crepe paper backing with a medium-strength acrylic adhesive. The adhesive level suits smooth or lightly textured surfaces, so it grips well enough to help hold back paint bleed but still lifts away without damaging the surface underneath. The tape is UV and sunlight resistant and moisture resistant, and the bright blue colour makes it easy to see while you work and when it is time to remove it.

Where to use it
Indoors: masking skirting boards, architraves and window trim, edging painted walls and ceilings, and protecting tiles, glass and metal fittings in kitchens, bathrooms and living areas.
Outdoors: masking exterior doors, window frames and trim for touch-ups, as the tape resists sun and moisture.

Suitable surfaces include smooth or lightly textured painted walls, timber trim and baseboards, tile, glass and metal. Beyond painting, it is also handy for temporary labelling and marking out lines.

How to use it
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of dust so the tape bonds properly. Apply the tape along the edge and press it down firmly as you go. Allow a short time for the tape to settle before you start painting (around 30 to 60 minutes is a good guide). Once the paint is touch dry, lift the tape slowly, pulling it back on itself at roughly a 45-degree angle.

Important notes
For the cleanest result, remove the tape within 14 days of applying it. It is not intended for wallpaper, unpainted plasterboard, timber floors or surfaces that are poorly bonded or flaking, so test a small hidden area first if you are unsure. Freshly painted surfaces should be fully dry before taping over them.
