Description
Selleys Grout Stain Whitener is a water-based treatment that restores tired, discoloured grout to a clean, even white. Rather than simply scrubbing the surface, it coats the grout line to mask stains from mould growth, ingrained dirt, spilt makeup or hair-dye, leaving tiled areas looking fresh and bright again. It can also be used to recolour grey or other coloured grout to white.
The formula contains a built-in fungicide that creates a protective barrier, making it harder for mould spores to take hold and for new stains to penetrate the grout, helping to break the mould cycle and keep grout looking cleaner for longer. It is supplied in a 280g tube fitted with a foam applicator tip for neat, controlled application straight onto the grout line.
Where to use it
Indoor: Tiled walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. Suitable for use on cement-based grout between ceramic and porcelain tiles.
This is an interior-use product and is not intended for outdoor application.
How to use
- Clean the tiled area and grout thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. Wearing gloves, an apron and old clothing is recommended.
- Press the foam applicator firmly against the grout and apply even pressure to the tube while moving the applicator along the grout lines.
- Allow to dry for at least 30 minutes, then check by wiping over with a damp cloth. If not yet dry, allow more time (no more than 2 hours).
- Once dry, remove excess with a lint-free damp cloth or sponge, wiping diagonally across the grout line.
- Reapply anywhere too little product was applied or too much was wiped off.
- After use, rinse the sponge under a downward-tilted tap, blot dry, and replace the lid firmly until next use.
- Allow at least 5 hours before the treated area is exposed to water.
Important notes
- Do not use on unglazed or porous tiles and stone.
- Not recommended for tiles with intricate patterns or grooves from which the product may be difficult to remove.
- Heavily stained or coloured grout may need two applications.
- For longer-lasting protection, avoid harsh, abrasive cleaning of treated grout lines.
- Uncured product cleans up with water; cured product can be softened with methylated spirits.
