Selleys No More Gaps Timber Floors Gap Filler 380g [Baltic]

Description

Selleys No More Gaps Timber Floors in Baltic is a flexible, wood-fibre gap filler made for sealing the gaps between tongue and groove floorboards, supplied as a single 380g cartridge. The Baltic tint is made to sit in lighter timber floors, so the repair blends in once it has been sanded and finished.

About the formula
A water-based acrylic filler loaded with real wood fibre. The fibre helps the cured filler take stain better than a standard gap filler, and it sands back to a smooth, clean surface. It stays flexible to cope with the seasonal movement of floorboards and forms an airtight seal that helps keep out draughts, dust and pests. Baltic is tinted to suit pine, myrtle and alpine ash. Hardwood, Jarrah and Walnut tints are available separately for other timbers.

Where to use it
Indoors: gaps around and between tongue and groove timber flooring, and between timber panels and fittings such as skirting boards, architraves and benchtops.
Outdoors: not suitable. This is an interior-only product.

Suitable materials include timber flooring, timber panels and fittings, and engineered timber floors. The Baltic tint is the best match for pine, myrtle and alpine ash.

How to use it
Make sure the gap is clean, dry and free of dust. Cut the cartridge seal and nozzle to suit the width of the gap, fit the nozzle and load the cartridge into a caulking gun. Force the filler well into the gap, then press it in and smooth it off with a spatula, taking care not to drag filler back out of the joint. Scrape surplus filler off the timber surface with the spatula to cut down on sanding later, and wipe up any smears straight away with a damp cloth. Allow the filler to cure fully before sanding, staining, varnishing or painting. Wear a P1 dust mask when sanding.

Important notes
Not for exterior use. Not for gaps wider than 3mm in trafficable joints. Allow at least 24 hours to cure, and longer in cold or damp conditions. Uncured filler cleans up with water, while cured filler needs to be sanded or scraped off. Keep the cartridge stored above 5°C. Test stains and finishes on a small area first, as the final colour depends on the timber and the finish used.
