Description
SikaGrout Deep Pour is a flowable, precision cementitious grout built for large sections and deep pours of up to 500mm, supplied here as a single 20kg bag. It suits machine bedplates, anchor bolts and other heavy grouting jobs where you need a high-strength, shrinkage-compensated fill that sets quickly and keeps developing strength.
About the formula
A ready-mixed grout made from Portland cement, graded aggregates and Sika admixtures. It expands in two stages (Class A and C) to offset the shrinkage normally seen with Portland cement grouts. Sika lists shrinkage compensation, high early and 28-day strengths, good flow, adjustable consistency, good impact and thermal resistance, and no corrosion risk to steel or iron. It is lab tested to AS 1478.2. You mix it with water on site, and the consistency can be adjusted to suit the job.
Where to use it
Indoors: grouting machine bedplates, anchor bolts and crane rail soleplates in plant rooms, workshops and industrial buildings.
Outdoors: mass grouting and concreting, bridge bearing pads and pre-cast concrete sections, with the curing precautions below.
Designed for use with concrete and masonry structures, steel baseplates and anchor bolts.
How to use it
Prepare the substrate and formwork first, and check that the area is within the application temperature range. Mix the 20kg bag with clean water to the ratio on the Sika Product Data Sheet (about 2.5 to 2.8 litres per bag), then adjust within that range to reach the flow you need. Pour from one side of the void so air is pushed out rather than trapped. Place it in layers from 20mm up to 500mm in one pour. For depths over 500mm, Sika recommends adding clean, well-graded aggregate to reduce exothermic heat. Start curing straight away with plastic sheet, wet hessian or a liquid curing membrane to shield the grout from sun and wind. Clean tools and equipment with water while the grout is still wet. Hardened grout can only be removed mechanically.
Important notes
Pot life is about 30 minutes at 20°C, so only mix what you can place in that time. Apply with air and substrate temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Good curing is vital for final strength and for tight contact with the baseplate. Shelf life is 9 months in undamaged, sealed packaging stored dry and cool. Always follow the current Sika Product Data Sheet for mixing ratios and placement limits.
