About the product
The blade has a polymer coating that helps protect the markings from wear and keeps the graduations clear and easy to read. It can extend up to 2.1m unsupported (stand-out), which makes it easier to take longer measurements on your own. The case is made from ABS plastic and has a non-slip grip. A positive thumb lock holds the blade in place while you read or mark. A belt clip lets you keep the tape within easy reach.
Where to use it
Indoors: setting out shelving, cabinetry, flooring, wall linings and furniture, and checking room sizes and fit-out dimensions.
Outdoors: measuring up for decking, fencing, garden beds, landscaping and general building tasks.
How to use it
- Hook the end of the blade over the edge of the material and pull the tape out to the length you need.
- For outside measurements, the end hook catches the edge. For inside measurements, push the hook against the far surface. The Tru-Zero hook slides to compensate for its own thickness, so the reading stays accurate either way.
- Slide the thumb lock forward to hold the blade at the measurement. Release it and the blade retracts into the case.
- Clip the tape to your belt or pocket when you are not using it.

Important notes
Guide the blade back into the case by hand rather than letting it snap back, as this reduces wear on the hook and the blade. Do not use the tape near live electrical wiring or equipment, because the blade is metal and conducts electricity.

Care and storage
Wipe the blade clean and dry after use, especially if it has been exposed to moisture, dust or sticky materials. Retract the blade fully before storing. Keep the tape in a dry place away from extreme heat, and avoid dropping it onto the extended blade, which can kink or crease it.
