Description
The Stanley 8m Tape Measure is a straightforward, easy-to-read measuring tool for home projects, renovations and everyday trade jobs. It combines a high contrast coated blade with a locking mechanism and a hard-wearing case, so it suits anyone who wants a dependable tape for general measuring.
About the product
The yellow blade has a polymer coating designed to resist wear and keep the markings readable over time. Graduations are in millimetres. The blade reaches 2.1 metres unsupported, which helps when you are measuring on your own across a gap or up a wall. The end hook is held by three rivets and uses Stanley Tru-Zero action, which shifts slightly to account for the hook thickness so inside and outside measurements stay accurate. The case is moulded from ABS plastic and is shaped for a secure, non-slip hold.
Key features
- High contrast polymer coated blade for clear, long-lasting readability
- 2.1 metre standout
- Thumb-operated blade lock to hold a measurement in place
- Tru-Zero three rivet end hook for inside and outside measuring
- Durable ABS case with a non-slip grip
- Built-in belt clip for carrying
How to use it
Hook the end over the edge of the material and pull the blade out to the length you need. Slide the thumb lock forward to hold the blade, then read the measurement and mark it. For an inside measurement, push the hook against the far surface and add the case length if the markings on the case allow for it. Release the lock and let the blade retract under control, guiding it back by hand to protect the hook and the blade edge.
Important notes
This is a standard mechanical tape measure with a non-magnetic tip and no electronic functions. Keep the blade clean and avoid letting it snap back at speed, as this can bend the hook or shorten the life of the blade.

Care and storage
Wipe the blade with a dry or lightly damp cloth after use, especially if it has been exposed to dust, water or concrete. Retract the blade fully and store the tape in a dry spot, such as a tool box or on your belt. Avoid dropping it onto hard surfaces and keep it away from heavy loads that could bend the blade.
