Description
The Stinger Solar Bug Zapper Lantern is a cordless, solar-powered mosquito and flying insect zapper that doubles as a lantern, so you can keep your patio, BBQ area or campsite more comfortable after dark without running a power lead. A solar panel on top charges the unit during the day, and a light sensor switches it on and off for you.
About the product
The lamp uses a UV LED to draw flying insects towards an 800 volt killing grid, with a white LED so it can also work as a lantern. It is rated by the retailer for a protection area of about 25m2. Because it is solar powered, there is no cord and no power point needed. The auto on/off light sensor means it switches on as it gets dark and off again at daybreak, so it is not running needlessly through the day.
Where to use it
Indoors: designed as an outdoor unit, so not intended for indoor use.
Outdoors: patios, decks, BBQ and outdoor dining areas, garden seating and campsites, in a spot that gets good daylight so the solar panel can recharge.
How to use it
- Set the unit up outdoors where the solar panel on top will receive daylight.
- Let it charge during the day. The light sensor turns it on at dusk and off again automatically.
- Place it between your seating area and where insects tend to gather, rather than right next to where you sit.
- Empty and clean the unit as needed so the killing grid stays clear of insect debris. Make sure the unit is switched off first.
Important notes
Run time overnight depends on how much sunlight the panel receives, so performance will be better after sunny days than after long overcast spells. It is designed to target flying insects such as mosquitoes, moths and flies, and it will not replace insect repellent for personal protection. Please read the supplied instruction manual before first use.

Care and storage
Do not touch the killing grid while the unit is operating, and keep children and pets away from it. Switch the unit off and let it settle before cleaning, and keep it dry when not in use. Store it in a cool, dry place out of reach of children when not in use.
