Description
The Sutton Tools INOX Metric Jobber Drill Set is a 19 piece index set built for drilling stainless steel, covering 1.0 mm to 10.0 mm in 0.5 mm steps. It suits fabricators, maintenance workers and serious DIYers who want one organised set that handles the tough, work-hardening nature of stainless.
About the product
These jobber length drills are made from M2 high speed steel (HSS), which balances strength with heat and wear resistance. Each bit has a fast spiral and a short flute for rigidity and good swarf control. The point and stepped core are shaped for clean penetration and to limit work hardening, and a Futura Nano PVD coated tip adds wear resistance. Sutton Tools states that the INOX design achieves around 70% more life in stainless steel than standard drill bits.
Where to use it
Indoors: workshop and maintenance drilling in stainless steel and other metal, including benchtop fabrication, fittings and brackets.
Outdoors: on-site work such as drilling stainless handrails, marine style hardware and fixtures, or trade van jobs.
How to use it
The set includes:
- 19 INOX jobber drill bits in 0.5 mm steps from 1.0 mm to 10.0 mm
- A compact index case that keeps every size in order
Secure the workpiece and centre punch the hole position. Use a cutting or tapping fluid, run the drill at a modest speed and keep a firm, steady feed so the bit keeps cutting rather than rubbing, which causes stainless to work harden. For larger holes, step up through the sizes starting with a smaller pilot hole. Clear swarf regularly and let the bit cool if it gets hot.
Important notes
Designed mainly for stainless steel and suited to general metal drilling. Use in a drill driver or drill press with a suitable chuck, and avoid side loading or forcing the bit. Return each bit to its slot after use so the set stays complete.

Care and storage
Wear safety glasses when drilling and keep hair and loose clothing clear of the rotating drill. Handle freshly cut metal and hot bits with care. Wipe the bits clean, return them to the index case and store the set in a dry place to protect the coating and keep the edges sharp. Keep out of reach of children.
