Description
The Sutton Tools Viper Cobalt Metric Drill Set gives you 25 general purpose cobalt drill bits in one case, covering 1.0mm to 13.0mm in half-millimetre steps. It suits tradies and home handypeople who want a single set that copes with metal, timber and plastics, with a longer working life than the standard Viper range.
About the product
Each bit has a 118° split point that helps it bite cleanly and reduces wandering when you start a hole. The 5% cobalt content adds heat and wear resistance, and Sutton rates the set at up to twice the tool life of its standard Viper drills. The bits are designed for both machine drilling and hand-held drilling.
Where to use it
Workshop, job site and home projects where you need a reliable range of sizes for pilot holes, fixing holes and general drilling.
Suitable materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, timber and plastics.
How to use it
- 25 metric bits from 1.0mm to 13.0mm, in 0.5mm steps
- Supplied in a hard ABS case so the sizes stay organised
- Secure the workpiece and mark the centre of the hole before you start
- Use a steady speed and firm, even pressure, and back the bit out regularly to clear swarf
- When drilling metal, a cutting lubricant helps keep the bit cooler
Important notes
This is a general purpose set. It is not intended for masonry, concrete or tile, so use a bit made for those materials instead. Return each bit to its slot after use to keep the set complete.

Care and storage
Wear safety glasses when drilling and keep long hair and loose clothing clear of the chuck. Let bits cool before handling them, and wipe off swarf and moisture before putting them away. Store the set closed in its case in a dry spot, out of reach of children.
