Description
Syneco Self-Adhesive Door and Window Weather Seal is a soft black EPDM rubber strip that helps cut down draughts, dust and noise around doors and windows. It comes as 5 metres in total, supplied as two 2.5 metre lengths, so it suits a few average-sized openings around the home.
About the product
The strip is made from soft, flexible EPDM rubber and has a self-adhesive backing, so there is no separate glue to buy or mix. It is designed to sit in the corner between the door or window stop and the frame, where it compresses to form a seal. The profile is 9mm wide and 6mm high, and it is suited to gaps of about 3 to 6mm.
Where to use it
Indoors: around internal door and window frames where you want to reduce draughts, dust and noise.
Outdoors: this product is described as being for interior use, so it is not recommended for exposed outdoor locations.
How to use it
- Measure the gap you want to seal first. The strip suits gaps of roughly 3 to 6mm.
- Clean the frame surface so it is free of dust, grease and loose paint, and let it dry fully.
- Cut the strip to length with sharp scissors or a utility knife.
- Peel back the protective liner a little at a time and press the strip firmly into the corner between the stop and the frame.
- Close the door or window gently to check that the seal compresses evenly without making it hard to close.
Important notes
Check that your gap sits within the 3 to 6mm range before you buy, as a seal that is too thick can make a door or window hard to close. Self-adhesive strips bond best to clean, dry, sound surfaces. Test a short length on your frame first if it has a textured or freshly painted finish.

Care and storage
Keep the strip in its packaging in a cool, dry place until you are ready to fit it, and keep the adhesive face covered so it stays clean. Wipe the installed seal with a damp cloth when needed. Avoid harsh solvents, which can affect the rubber and the adhesive.
