Description
The Big Cheese Advanced Pest Repeller is a plug-in, poison-free rodent deterrent that helps keep mice and rats out of your home without baits or traps. It pairs swept ultrasound with electromagnetic pulses, so the signal travels through your home's wiring as well as through the air. That helps it reach the walls, ceilings and under-floor spaces where rodents like to nest.
About the product
This unit runs two actions at once. The ultrasonic output is aimed at rodents and is not audible to people, cats or dogs. The electromagnetic pulses travel along the house wiring to reach nest sites inside walls, ceilings and cavities. A red LED shows when the unit is powered, and a TEST button lets you quickly check the ultrasonic output. The manufacturer says it is safe around children and household pets such as cats and dogs, and that it does not adversely affect electrical wiring or interfere with domestic appliances. It is best used once an existing infestation is under control, to help keep rodents from coming back.
Where to use it
Indoors: living areas, bedrooms, kitchens, laundries, hallways, garages and roof or ceiling spaces served by a power point, with one unit per floor or area of the home as a starting point.
Outdoors: not recommended. This unit is intended for indoor use only.
How to use it
- Plug the unit straight into a free, unobstructed power point in the affected area.
- Check that the red LED is lit, then press the TEST button to confirm the ultrasonic output is working.
- Leave it switched on and running continuously for the best results.
- Keep the unit clear of furniture and curtains so the output is not blocked.
- Store food where rodents cannot reach it, and seal any gaps or openings they could use to get inside.
Important notes
The manufacturer states the unit covers a room space of up to 37 square metres. Ultrasound does not pass through solid objects, so place units where they have open space in front of them. Do not use around pet rodents such as hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs or rabbits, as they may also be affected. Results can vary between households, so combine the unit with good housekeeping and proofing of entry points.

Care and storage
Plug the unit into a dry, indoor power point only and keep it away from water and damp areas. Keep it out of reach of young children and do not open the casing. Wipe the exterior with a dry cloth when needed. If you stop using it, unplug it and store it in a cool, dry place.
