Turbo Concrete Bog 500ml (Two Part Polyester Repair Filler)

Description

Turbo Concrete Bog is a fast-setting polyester repair filler for patching holes, chips and cracks in concrete, brick and masonry, supplied here in a 500ml container. It is often described as concrete in a can. It sets hard in minutes and dries to a dull grey that looks like real concrete, so small repairs can be finished on the same day.

About the formula
This is a two part system. The filler is a paste based on unsaturated polyester resin in styrene, and it is cured with a benzoyl peroxide hardener that is mixed in at the time of use. The paste has a no-slump body, so it stays put on vertical and overhead repairs without sagging. Turbo describes the cured repair as strong and water resistant, with no shrinkage. The cured filler can be painted with water based or oil based paints or epoxy floor coatings, usually within about an hour. It can also be left unpainted, or tinted with dry oxides to match coloured concrete.

Where to use it
Indoors: filling old dynabolt holes and repairing chips or cracks in garage and shed floors, steps and masonry walls.
Outdoors: repairing driveways, paths, steps, brick and masonry walls.

Suitable materials include concrete, brick and other masonry surfaces.

How to use it
Clean the damaged area and about 5cm around it. The surface must be dry and free of dirt, dust, oil, wax, grease, paint and anything else that could stop the filler bonding. Mix the filler and hardener carefully in the proportions given on the pack. Weather and temperature affect how fast the mix cures, so work in manageable batches. Press the mixed filler firmly into the hole or crack and shape it before it hardens. Once cured it can be sanded, then painted or left as is.

Important notes
The hardener is a separate component. Check what is in the pack when you receive it, because Turbo also sells its Red Hardener separately. Use the hardener amount recommended on the label, since changing it changes the set time. This is a repair filler, not an adhesive and not a concrete additive. It is not stainable. Always follow the mixing and application directions on the pack.
